The Beach Scenery of Santa Marta
"Heaven On Earth"
Christopher Columbus

Beach scenery around Santa Marta is sensational, the above quote is what Columbus said when he stopped at Arricifes beach, so it's not just me. There are so many locations with Caribbean beaches, tropical views, so many places to take beach photos, thankfully we are not paying for our photos by the rolls of film we use, that could be expensive. The locations around Santa Marta are nice enough that it's hard not to take a good photo or two, all you have to do is pick a direction and press down on the button.

Unlike many places in the world, the scenery around the beaches is not only impressive but also user friendly, you can actually swim in the water. Many locations have beautiful beaches but it's a polar bear swim isn't? It's steak without the sizzle. It's a lot like having a mountain with a fence around it, you can look but you can't enjoy the complete experience of actually going up the mountain. You will also take a lot of your photos in the sunshine, with an average of 6 to 8 hours a day, that's not bad.

The beaches stretch for many many miles, pack a big lunch if you are planning on seeing them all. From the Magdalena river to the border of Venezuela, that's at least 250 miles with no inlets, but what a fantastic walk.
