The Infamous Santa Marta Beer Run
A Beer Run and Caribbean life go together, with the heat averaging around 28˚C and 6 to 8 hours of sunshine a day averaged throughout the year you need something to drink, you can't drink more than 1 or 2 bottles of pop a day, at least I can't, if I want to drink something like that I mix fruit juice with club soda to get the fizz but that only works for a little while, as the day wears on it's time for a beer. Sunshine and heat make for an easy going spirit, rules and regulations quickly fade to the back of your mind so it's easy to have a good time and a few brew, then you start to remember to live for today and forget about tomorrow and to be part of the Santa Marta Colombia spirit. I did say Colombia which automatically means a tropical fiesta that can sometimes last longer than you can. Beer is essential but not everyone likes it so add some beach drinks and a touch of party music then things take care of themselves. The days can be hot but the evenings are so pleasant, just warm enough at about 25˚ C, perfect temperatures to enjoy a few of your favourite brew.
