Are Great Ways To Explore Santa Marta

Travel groups are probably the best way to begin a tour of a new area that you don’t know, being with a large number of people lets you get a good overview of an area and gives time to decide if its worth another visit at a later date. With a group or travel club and an organized tour operator there are personal safety advantages also, you don’t have to be too concerned about getting lost and you can also decide whether it’s safe enough to return on your own.

Santa Marta is a great place to explore but let’s face it, there are places that you just don’t want to be in in any city, just like anywhere else you have to find out where the bad areas are and stay away from them, after a few days in a city your on your way.

Travel groups will be organized probably a little better than you will be initially and can take you to places that you may not have heard about that might be of great interest to you.

Santa Marta has a large number of tour companies that can show you around the city. When you get to the beach areas you don’t have to look for them as they will find you. I find that although they can take you to many good locations sometimes they can move on too fast when it’s nice to stop and spend some time at a location. First take their tour if it’s not too long or expensive then pick the best spots on the tour to return to a later time. Write things down so you don’t forget the name of the place or a landmark close by so the next time you want to go there outside of a travel group you can find the place.
